Monaco’s goalkeeper is in demandJuventus have their eye on the ball Juventus Football Club is looking to secure Association Sportive de Monaco Football Club’s Flavio Roma as their second goalkeeper. According to the football grapevine, the Italian team’s first goalkeeper, Gianluigi Buffon, is said to need an experienced understudy, and they believe Monaco’s 34 year-old will be a fitting replacement for Emanuele Belardi, their current standby goalie, who is believed to be too inexperienced to play at the standard Juventus requires. AS Monaco are said to be one of the most successful teams in French football and even reached the UEFA Champion’s League final in 2004. It is reported that it is their good relationship with the Italian team which will ensure a deal between the two clubs, and Juventus are expected to loan Jorge Andrade to Monaco as part of the arrangement. Flavio Roma appears to be extremely experienced in both Europe and Italy, and has reportedly made 161 appearances during his seven years at AS Monaco.
